OUR MAJOR GLBT COMMUNITY
BUILDING & OUTREACH PLAN!

CA USA) September 28, 2005 - Today the Bi MEN NETWORK announced its most ambitious
community outreach and GLBT community building program across North America with
bi & gay men's events - 10 "Coming Out" Wednesdays and 10 "QUEST" Sundays
this Fall at 80 bi-friendly watering holes - GLBT bars, cafes, clubs, pubs and
taverns - in 80 major North American cities.
Nominations were accepted
from the Bi MEN membership and GLBT community leaders as well as from past and
present customers and employees and suppliers of all nominated host venues. All
80 selected host venues are believed to be bi-friendly and to have loyal GLBT
community followings and are noted for their care and concern for bi and gay men
"coming out" at all stages of adult life. All venues have a long history of support
with regard to GLBT community-wide matters and concerns. .
COMING
OUT WEDNESDAYS is an outreach program from the Bi MEN and Bi & GAY MEN - for
bi and gay men who are just "coming out" as bi and gay men - or just straight
guys who are exploring their sexuality or who are just a tad bi-curious. These
are set for 5 to 7 pm on Wednesdays - October 12th, 19th and 26th - then every
November Wednesday and then December 7th and 14th (with a break for the holidays
- start back up again in January after New Year's). The selected venues do nothing
special other than be open and ask the staff to be as warm and friendly for all
newcomers as possible.
QUEST SUNDAYS is the "Looking for Mr. ____" Program
for our bi and gay men who are looking for this or that. We now just call it the
QUEST so that it is wider and will include whatever someone may be looking for
- a four leaf clover, love, or lust or ????????? This is set for Sundays 5 to
7 pm as well. October 16th, 23rd and 30th - all November Sundays - and then in
December the 4th, 11th and 18th. Again - a break for the holidays - with startup
for the Winter in January 2006.

Stewart
McCloud, Founder & President of the Bi Men Network said: "No major GLBT organization
or association has to date successfully led any major community building effort
to bring bisexuals on one side and gays, lesbians and transgendered on the other
side together. While we are all four sexual minority groups - we are all quite
significantly different. Bisexuals need to better understand our brothers and
sisters and they need to do likewise Bridging these differences and finding common
ground may need to come about on a more personal - micro - vs. macro level!" McCloud
noted: "While bisexual men and women often do not - if ever - come out publicly
- we do thrive in any environment where we do not have to live out "lives of quiet
desperation" - eliminating our all too often needless fears, worries and anxieties
that if our status as a sexual minority were known we would then be treated as
outcasts and virtual pariahs". Concluding McCloud emphasized: "Bisexuals are very
different and we would like the gay, lesbian and transgendered communities to
come to better understand this and to accept us as we are!' McCloud concluded:
"IF bisexuals could be more readily included in the GLBT community - their sheer
size added to that of the "G", "L" and "T" existing sectors would be a major boost.
The resulting SYNERGY - the synergistic effect - is that the end results and benefits
to all of these four very different sectors would be so far greater than the sum
of the individual parts."
